After his creative traineeship at Vandejong, Kalle Mattsson went to Curaçao for three months. He noticed the prominent presence of companies such as KFC, Coca-Cola, Burger King on huge billboards. He saw a parallel between the present and history: commercialism as the new colonialism. Companies force their message upon the people o and make profit out of Curaçao. Kalle bought three billboards leave his own message.

Stolen: brands determine the street image. The billboards steal your attention and space in your head.

Coca-Cola: This used to be a punishement site. It's a well-known place on Curaçao. Now there's Coca-Cola written on it with graffiti. Old and new colonialism in one place.

The billboards are there for at least a month, or maybe longer... till someone else buys his own spot in public space.
Kalle creates more. See it on Hijack Your Life.
