Communications agency Vandejong has developed a cross-media campaign at the request of Anno in order to raise children’s awareness about history. The campaign’s focal element is the secret Orde van GIS (the History is Exciting or HIE Order), a club that embarks on exciting adventures. Children can join the mysterious order following a ‘rigorous’ application procedure on the official website.
One of the key elements of the campaign in a holiday activity book describing some of the Order’s adventures. Using stories and games, the book follows the members of the Order as they travel across the Netherlands and discover the truth behind Dutch folktales and myths. But the children must also do some sleuthing in an online game that takes several days, during which mystifying events in the province of Zeeland are solved.
The holiday activity book has a print run of 100,000 and will be distributed at various places around the country. On 14 July, the Anno holiday activity book and online game will be launched at the Neeltje Jans amusement park in Zeeland, which happens to be one of the locations that plays a crucial role in the Order’s adventures. The book and game make it extra exciting to visit the various locations. Vandejong cooperated with De Nieuwe Collectie in realising the holiday activity book. The online game was designed in cooperation with Ranj.
